This book is labeled for girls as young as 8 years old. Warning(...) I was apalled when I looked through the book my daughter purchased through a school book order. I have enjoyed the Chicken Soup series for many years and didn't even think about having my just turned 10 year old daugher read one targeting girls. One day while reading it in the car she became very sick to her stomach. After questioning her I came to find out why. It was not car sickness. It was the story she was reading about. It dealt with "cutting" and described the bloody scene after a girl cut her self (self-mutilation). I then skimmed the book to find stories on sexual assault, mature boy/girl issues, stuffing bras, etc.
